The Candles Game

DISCLAIMER: I do not recommend messing with the paranormal. I only post these games for entertainment and because we all love a good scare.

The Candles Game is a ritual to summon mysterious entities. The original poster of this game did not say exactly what this ritual could conjure since the result is supposed to differ from person-person.

This game is extremely long so my advice would be to catch on your sleep to be alert during the play.

~You will need~

  • Candles  [Depending on how many rooms you have plus 1 candle for each hallway in the house]
  • A Lighter or Matches
  • A friend to help you during the preparation stage.

~Preparation~

  • Have your friend hide a candle in each room. You must not know the location of these candles.
  • Place 1 candle at the end of every passageway, you can put them there yourself. Now take one candle and place it in front of your room door. The candle must be inside the room.
  • Once that is done, lock all doors and windows of the house and pull the drapes close. Shut off all appliances and switch off your electronics like mobiles/tablets and stow them in the cupboard.
  • Set an alarm for 11:10pm and enter your room at dusk.
  • Go to sleep.

~Gameplay~

  • Wake up as soon as your alarm goes off. You now have one minute to light the candle in your room. After the candle is lit, do not look around your room. Especially at the corners.
  • At 11:11 knock on the door thrice. If there isn’t any rustling or whispering behind the door, it is ok to proceed
  • Say: I’m ready to play.
  • Exit your room. Once you’re outside, shut the door (do not look back) and place the candle in front of the door. This will ward off any entities from entering the room once you’ve left.
  • From here, begin searching for the hidden candles. If there is a hallway after your room light the candle there first and proceed to the others, knocking on the door thrice before you enter.
  • Remember that you have only 3 minutes to search for and light the candle.
  • Remember to close the doors after you exit the rooms. Do not re-enter any of them.
  • If you hear whispering after you knock on a door, move on to the next room. But you must re-visit the room, once things have settled.

ENDING 1:

  • If you did everything correctly until this point and have lit every candle you must return to your room, knock on the door as usual, then enter and shut the door.
  • Lie on your bed, facing the ceiling. Do not look around. You have to stay awake till 6:00AM.
  • Congratulations, you have won. After 6:00AM the house may be safe. Or maybe not.
  • The ending is different with every player, and we do not know what happens to those who lose.

ENDING 2:

Every step here depends on what went wrong during the gameplay.
  • If you did not wake at the right time,
lie in your bed facing the ceiling and keep awake until 6AM.
  • If you did not find the candle in a room, l
ock the door of the room immediately, lie in the room facing the ceiling and do not fall asleep till 6AM.
  • If you found some doors open, even the ones that you shut or if you saw a light under a door.  Please the house as soon as possible.
  • I recommend smudging or cleansing the house after this ritual for you do not know whether the spirits have left or are still lurking in the house.

YOU LOSE THE GAME IF:
  • You fall asleep.
  • You fail to follow the instructions in the gameplay.
  • You start running.
WARNINGS:
  • Do not involve anyone else in the game. You must do this alone. Keep all your pets away as they may be sensitive towards these entities.
  • Do not respond to any whisperings during the game.
  • Let the lighter be your guide. If you see any movement through the corner of your eye, do not look.
  • Do not look into any mirrors. It would be best to cover them up beforehand.
  • Considering the amount of fire hazards involved, minus the access of electronics, this game can end up in a disaster. Ghosts apart, the chances of burning your house and having a horrible accident is very real.
